The colored routes are schematic, not navigation directions. The flexible three-week option has no fixed map line. Your proposal confirms the daily stops and overnight stays.
Choose Your Private Morocco Trip from Casablanca
Your Morocco itinerary should connect the places you most want to see with enough time to enjoy them. Start in Casablanca, travel north toward the blue streets of Chefchaouen and the medina of Fes, then continue through the Atlas Mountains to Merzouga and Marrakech. Longer journeys create space for the southern oases, independent city time and the Atlantic coast.
Every tour compared here starts in Casablanca. Choose a one-way journey ending in Marrakech or a Casablanca round trip, then select your accommodation tier and the experiences that matter to you. Complete Morocco will help you turn the route into a private proposal with the overnight stays, transport and final total clearly set out.
Which duration should you compare first?
- 4–6 days: compact road journeys with a Sahara camp and substantial driving.
- 7–9 days: northern cities and the Sahara, with different choices for Skoura or Marrakech time.
- 10–12 days: a Merzouga exploration day, guided cities and selected longer stays.
- 14 days: a Casablanca round trip with an arrival day and return overnight.
- 17 days: a Midelt overnight, two Marrakech sightseeing days and an Essaouira visit.
- 3 weeks: a flexible private journey built around your interests.
Count usable sightseeing days before choosing a duration. A late arrival cannot comfortably carry the same program as an early morning departure. Send your flights with your enquiry so we can check the first and last days before you book.

4-Day Morocco Itinerary: A Direct Sahara Crossing
Casablanca → Rabat → Fes → Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Choose four days when you are ready to travel from Casablanca and want the Sahara to be part of your journey to Marrakech. This is a compact road tour: Fes is an overnight stop, followed by the Middle Atlas crossing, a desert camp night and the southern valleys. It gives you a clear route across the country, with substantial driving each day.
Highlights
Rabat stop; Middle Atlas and Ziz Valley; Merzouga camp; Todra Gorge; Ait Ben Haddou and the High Atlas.
Who this suits
A short travel window with Marrakech as your next destination.
No dedicated guided day in Fes or Marrakech. Confirm your arrival time before planning Day 1.

5-Day Morocco Tour: Chefchaouen, Fes and the Sahara
Casablanca → Chefchaouen → Fes → Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley → Skoura → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Five days adds Chefchaouen to the journey and combines the transfer to Fes with a guided city visit. From there, travel south to the Sahara before continuing through the gorges and kasbah country to Marrakech. This is a useful choice when the blue medina and a camp night both matter, but your available days are limited.
Highlights
A night in Chefchaouen; guided Fes visit after the transfer; Erg Chebbi camp experience; Todra Gorge; southern kasbah scenery.
Who this suits
Travelers who want Chefchaouen within a short private tour from Casablanca.
The Fes visit shares a day with the drive from Chefchaouen. Compare six days for a separate guided Fes day.

6-Day Morocco Itinerary: More Time to Explore Fes
Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes → Ifrane → Ziz Valley → Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
This six-day itinerary connects Morocco’s northern cities with the Atlas Mountains and Merzouga desert, while giving Fes its own guided day. You travel through Volubilis and Meknes on the way from Chefchaouen, then spend time in Fes el-Bali before beginning the Sahara crossing. It is a fuller cultural route than the five-day option.
Highlights
Rabat and Chefchaouen; Volubilis and Meknes; a dedicated Fes guided day; Sahara camp; Dades and Ait Ben Haddou.
Who this suits
A six-day road journey balancing historic cities and a first Sahara experience.
Day 1 continues to Chefchaouen. The long Fes–Merzouga drive remains a single travel day.

Morocco Itinerary 7 Days: One Week from Casablanca
Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes → Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
A one-week Morocco itinerary starts with a Rabat overnight before continuing toward Chefchaouen and Fes. The separate guided day in Fes gives context to the medina, while the second half of the journey moves through the Middle Atlas, Sahara and southern valleys. Choose it for a broad introduction that finishes in Marrakech.
Highlights
Hassan II Mosque subject to visit timing; Rabat overnight; Chefchaouen; guided Fes; camel trek and camp; High Atlas crossing.
Who this suits
A first visit with seven days available for the road tour and additional Marrakech time if desired.
Marrakech is reached on Day 7. A full Marrakech sightseeing day is not included in this seven-day sequence.

Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes → Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades → Boutaghrar → Valley of Roses → Skoura → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Eight days builds on the northern cities and Sahara route with a separate southern-valley stage. After Dades, the journey continues toward Boutaghrar, the Valley of Roses and Skoura, before the final High Atlas crossing. That extra overnight is for travelers who want the landscapes and kasbahs between the main cities to be part of the holiday.
Highlights
The seven-day route’s main regions; a separate Dades-to-Skoura stage; Amridil Kasbah area; time in the oasis setting.
Who this suits
Travelers drawn to valley scenery and an extra southern overnight.
The extra day is in the valleys, not a full Merzouga exploration day. Off-road sections depend on access and conditions.

9 Days in Morocco: Include a Guided Marrakech Day
Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes → Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech → Agreed departure airport
Nine days suits travelers who want to finish the road journey with time to experience Marrakech. After the northern cities, guided Fes visit and Sahara crossing, spend Day 8 exploring Marrakech’s medina and souks before the departure arrangements on Day 9. This version makes Marrakech a destination rather than only a drop-off point.
Highlights
Guided visits in Fes and Marrakech; Chefchaouen; desert camp; Todra Gorge and Dades; planned final airport transfer.
Who this suits
A city-and-Sahara holiday with Marrakech sightseeing built into the schedule.
There is no dedicated full Merzouga 4×4 day. Confirm whether departure is from Marrakech or Casablanca.

10-Day Morocco Itinerary: Cities, Sahara and a 4×4 Day
Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes → Merzouga hotel or riad → Merzouga exploration and desert camp → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech → Agreed departure airport
Ten days is a strong starting point for a first private Morocco trip that combines northern cities, time around the Sahara and guided Marrakech sightseeing. The extra Merzouga day separates your arrival from the camp experience, with a hotel or riad night before exploring locally and staying in a desert tent. It creates time to enjoy the destination after the long journey from Fes.
Highlights
Guided Fes and Marrakech; two contrasting Sahara-area nights; Khamlia and a nomadic family visit; private 4×4 exploration; camel trek planned around sunset.
Who this suits
Travelers who want a complete city-and-desert journey with more than a camp arrival and departure around Merzouga.
The Fes-to-Merzouga drive is still about 470 km. The added day creates local exploration time rather than splitting that transfer.

12-Day Morocco Itinerary: Chefchaouen Time and Skoura
Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen (two nights) → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes → Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley → Valley of Roses → Skoura → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech → Agreed departure airport
Twelve days gives Chefchaouen a full day at your own pace and brings Skoura into the southern part of the route. You keep guided city visits in Fes and Marrakech, plus the Merzouga exploration day and camp experience. Choose this version when you want time to return to a café, explore a medina independently and enjoy another overnight among the southern valleys.
Highlights
Two Chefchaouen nights; guided Fes; Merzouga 4×4 exploration; Dades and Skoura stays; guided Marrakech.
Who this suits
Travelers who value independent time and a broader southern-valley route.
This route still has long driving stages. Confirm the exact Boutaghrar route and any family visits according to local arrangements.

Morocco Itinerary 14 Days: A Two-Week Casablanca Round Trip
Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes → Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley → Skoura → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech → Casablanca
Two weeks in Morocco allows a separate Casablanca arrival day, a free day in Chefchaouen, guided city visits and a Sahara stay before returning to Casablanca. This version works especially well when both flights use Casablanca and you want the airport arrangements included in the route. The final Casablanca overnight gives the return journey its own place in the schedule.
Highlights
Arrival hotel transfer; Chefchaouen free day; Fes sightseeing; Merzouga exploration; Skoura; Marrakech; Casablanca return.
Who this suits
Travelers with Casablanca return flights who want a two-week private circuit.
Some additional time is used for arrival comfort and the Casablanca return. It is not simply four extra sightseeing days compared with the ten-day itinerary.

Choose seventeen days for a fuller journey with a different rhythm. The overnight in Midelt splits the Fes-to-Merzouga journey across two days. Chefchaouen has its own exploration day, Marrakech has two sightseeing days, and Essaouira brings the Atlantic coast into the trip before you return to Casablanca.
Highlights
Casablanca and Rabat sightseeing; Chefchaouen’s blue medina; guided Fes; Midelt and Ziz Valley; Merzouga 4×4 exploration and camp; southern valleys; two Marrakech days; Essaouira’s medina and harbor.
Who this suits
Travelers who want cities, Sahara and coast in one private Casablanca round trip, with a shorter approach to Merzouga on Day 8.

Morocco Itinerary 3 Weeks: Customize Your Own Journey
With three weeks in Morocco, you do not need to follow a fixed circuit. Start in Casablanca and choose where to spend your time: historic cities, mountain landscapes, Sahara stays, Atlantic towns or a balance of several regions. We will build the daily route around your priorities, flight plans and preferred pace.
Flexible starting framework: Casablanca → northern cities and Chefchaouen → Fes → Atlas Mountains → Sahara → southern valleys → Marrakech → Atlantic coast → agreed departure airport
This is a planning framework, not a prescribed 21-day itinerary. You can extend the 17-day route with longer stays, choose fewer stops, add time on the coast or discuss different regions. Tell us what you have already visited and where you would like independent time.
Make it your trip
- More nights in your favorite riads and fewer hotel changes.
- Additional time for food, photography, walking or relaxation.
- A balance of guided city visits and days at your own pace.
- Accommodation categories chosen by destination.
What to send us
Your arrival and departure dates, number of travelers, interests, essential stops, budget range and preferred hotels. We will propose a realistic route and explain the driving before you confirm.
Where to Stay: Riads, Valley Hotels and Desert Camps
Your accommodation should support the route, not simply decorate the quote. A riad in Fes gives you a different setting from a valley hotel in Dades or a tent near Erg Chebbi. Compare the property and room category for every night, especially when choosing a higher accommodation tier.
These are examples from our published itinerary pages. Availability, your route and the final written quote determine the actual properties. TripAdvisor links help you research the stays; they do not confirm a reservation or guarantee identical facilities across room categories.
| Stop | Standard Comfort | Mid-Range | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rabat | Dar Shaan | Riad Kalaa | Sofitel Rabat Jardin des Roses |
| Chefchaouen | Riad Hicham | Dar Echchaouen | Lina Ryad & Spa |
| Fes | Riad Sara | Palais Houyam | Palais Faraj Suites & Spa |
| Merzouga hotel or riad | Riad Azawad | Riad Chebbi | Riad Serai |
| Merzouga desert camp | Ideal Desert Camp | Tawada Luxury Desert Camp | Tiziri Camp |
| Dades Valley | Hotel Babylon Dades | Dar Blues | Eden Boutique Hotel & Spa |
| Marrakech | Riad Bahia Salam | Riad Nesma Suites & Spa | La Maison Arabe |
For Standard Comfort, Mid-Range and Premium proposals, ask for the exact room or tent category, bed arrangement and included meals. A higher camp category does not automatically upgrade all city hotels. We will confirm the proposed stays before you proceed.
Your vehicle is private to your booking; hotels and camps may host other guests. Tell us about stairs, walking limitations, air-conditioning requirements and family-room needs before booking. Medina properties may require a short walk from the nearest vehicle-accessible point.
Around Merzouga, check whether your itinerary includes a hotel or riad night as well as the camp. Ask us to confirm air conditioning and other essential facilities in the exact tent category proposed for your dates. Read more about choosing overnight stays in our Morocco accommodation guide.
Plan Your Private Tour: Driving, Flights and Sightseeing
The best Morocco travel itinerary fits both your interests and the time you want to spend on the road. Allow sightseeing, lunch and comfort stops on top of driving hours. A full Merzouga exploration day adds time at the destination; a Midelt overnight changes the approach from Fes. The 17-day route makes that distinction especially useful.
| Stage | Approx. distance | Driving time, excluding stops |
|---|---|---|
| Fes–Merzouga, when traveled in one day | 470 km | 7–8 hours |
| Merzouga–Dades | 275 km | 4–5 hours |
| Dades–Marrakech | 350 km | 6–7 hours |
Match your final night to the departure airport. Routes that finish in Marrakech need an explicitly arranged transfer if your flight leaves Casablanca. For the nine-, ten- and twelve-day options, confirm the airport in your quote. The fourteen- and seventeen-day routes return to Casablanca before departure.
Book Majorelle Garden and Yves Saint Laurent Museum tickets online in advance through the official ticket office, and coordinate your chosen times with the Marrakech sightseeing plan. Tickets and particular monument visits should be identified in your proposal.
Spring and autumn generally suit multi-region trips. Summer can be very hot inland; winter brings cold desert evenings and possible difficult conditions on mountain roads. Pack comfortable walking shoes, layers, sun protection and a warmer evening jacket. Keep medication and travel documents accessible during transfers.
Private Morocco Tour Prices: Get a Quote for Your Party
Your price depends on the route, travel dates, number of travelers, rooms and accommodation category. Ask for both the per-person rate and the total for your booking. A headline rate for ten travelers does not describe the cost for a couple, and two itineraries of the same duration can include different services.
We will identify the proposed properties, room or tent categories, airport transfers, driver-guide service, guided city visits and included meals. Camel trekking, 4×4 camp transfers, monument tickets and optional activities should also be clear in the written proposal. You can then compare the whole trip before paying a deposit.
Your vehicle is private to your booking; hotels and camps may host other guests. Before confirming, review our cancellation policy and the payment details supplied with your quote.

Morocco Itinerary FAQs
What is the best Morocco itinerary for a first visit?
Start by comparing ten days if you want northern cities, guided Fes and Marrakech, and a full Merzouga exploration day. Seven days suits a tighter road-tour window, while twelve or fourteen days offers different longer stays and airport arrangements. The best choice depends on your flights, interests and pace.
Do all these tours start in Casablanca?
Yes. Every itinerary in this guide starts in Casablanca. Some end in Marrakech, some include an agreed departure-airport transfer, and the fourteen- and seventeen-day routes return to Casablanca. The three-week trip is tailored around your plans.
Is one week in Morocco enough?
One week can include Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara and the southern valleys on a busy private journey. The seven-day route reaches Marrakech on its final day, so allow additional nights or choose nine days if you want Marrakech sightseeing and departure time built into the plan.
Should I choose 8, 9 or 10 days?
Eight days adds a separate southern-valley stage and Skoura overnight. Nine days includes a guided Marrakech day and departure arrangements. Ten days also adds a dedicated Merzouga exploration day, with a hotel or riad night and a separate camp night.
What is the difference between 12 and 14 days in Morocco?
The twelve-day route includes a free day in Chefchaouen, Merzouga exploration, Skoura and guided Marrakech. The fourteen-day Casablanca round trip also has a separate arrival day and returns to Casablanca before the final airport transfer. Compare the flight arrangements as well as sightseeing.
What makes the 17-day Morocco trip different?
It includes a Midelt overnight between Fes and Merzouga, a separate Chefchaouen exploration day, two Marrakech sightseeing days and an Essaouira visit. It starts and ends in Casablanca and follows the detailed seventeen-day route shown above.
Can I customize a three-week Morocco itinerary?
Yes. The three-week option is flexible. Tell us your priorities, destinations already visited, preferred accommodation and flight plans. We can add longer stays, reduce hotel changes or discuss different regions rather than prescribe a fixed twenty-one-day circuit.
Is this a private or shared Morocco tour?
This is a private tour: your vehicle and driver-guide are reserved for your booking. Hotels and camps may host other guests. Your proposal will identify the services arranged for your party and any activities shared with other visitors.
Which vehicle will we travel in?
Vehicle choice depends on group size and availability. Examples include a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado TX 4×4 for two or three travelers, a Mercedes Vito or Ford Tourneo minivan for four to eight, and a minibus for larger groups. Confirm the proposed vehicle in your quote.
Can solo travelers and families book?
Yes. Request a private quote for your party size, and share children’s ages, room preferences and mobility needs. Uneven paths, medina stairs and long drives vary across the route, so these details help us check suitable arrangements before booking.
How long is the Fes to Merzouga drive?
The direct stage is about 470 km and takes approximately seven to eight hours of driving, excluding stops. The seventeen-day itinerary splits the approach with a Midelt overnight. Weather, road conditions and sightseeing affect the total time.
How long is the camel trek, and can I skip it?
Allow approximately one hour each way, depending on camp location and dune conditions. The trek is planned around sunset, subject to arrival and conditions. A 4×4 camp transfer can be arranged instead; tell us your preference before departure.
Do the desert camp tents have private bathrooms and air conditioning?
The proposed camp stay uses a private en-suite tent. Confirm air conditioning, heating and other essential facilities for the exact property and tent category in your quote, as facilities vary between camps and categories.
What should I wear and pack for Morocco?
Bring comfortable walking shoes, breathable layers, sun protection, a warm evening layer and trousers suitable for camel riding. Keep daily essentials accessible. Spring and autumn generally suit city-and-Sahara routes; summer heat and winter mountain conditions require different planning.
Are Majorelle Garden and the YSL Museum included?
Do not assume the tickets are included simply because Marrakech sightseeing is listed. Confirm the visits in your proposal, book tickets online in advance through the official ticket office and coordinate timed entry with your guide.
How do I get a private Morocco itinerary quote?
Send your dates, flight details, traveler numbers, room arrangements and preferred duration. Add your must-see places and accommodation priorities. We will check the route and proposed stays, then provide the inclusions and total before you confirm.
